The Mahara pre-hui day, 8 April 2015, gives you the opportunity to meet experienced Mahara users and work together with them in workshops as well as just in front of your own computer. Show off what you have been doing to another attendee and get their feedback. Or ask the developers questions. You can also come along to 4 free workshops facilitated by long-term Mahara users.
- Roger Emery from Southampton Solent University (UK) will show via video conference how you can make changes to your Mahara help files to make them more relevant to your users. Southampton Solent University has found an easy way of doing that. He will be supported by Sam Taylor who attends the hui in person.
- Pascale Hyboud-Peron from ThinkAgency (NZ) will explore web / social tools with you and show how they can be used in Mahara. You will have the chance to try using these tools in Mahara yourself.
- Sam Taylor from Cranfield University, formerly Southampton Solent University (UK) will facilitate a design thinking workshop to come up with some ideas for improving the usability of Mahara.
- Dominique-Alain Jan (CH / UK) will give a hands-on workshop introducing participants to Open Badges, which will complement his presentation on Thursday.
We are excited to have these Mahara veterans facilitate workshops. There are only a limited number of pre-hui places available. Book your spot now for free and don't forget to register for the hui days themselves on our registration page until 31 March 2015. View the draft schedule for information on the individual hui sessions.
We look forward to seeing you in Auckland in 23 days.
